Transition-Metal-Free N-Arylation of Pyrazoles with Diaryliodonium Salts.
A new synthetic method was developed for the N-arylation of pyrazoles using diaryliodonium salts. The transformation does not require any transition-metal catalyst and provides the desired N-arylpyrazoles rapidly under mild reaction condition in the presence of aqueous ammonia solution as a mild base without the use of inert atmosphere. The chemoselectivity of unsymmetric diaryliodonium salts w...
متن کاملTransition-Metal-Free α-Arylation of Enolizable Aryl Ketones and Mechanistic Evidence for a Radical Process.
The α-arylation of enolizable aryl ketones can be carried out with aryl halides under transition-metal-free conditions using KOtBu in DMF. The α-aryl ketones thus obtained can be used for step- and cost-economic syntheses of fused heterocycles and Tamoxifen. Mechanistic studies demonstrate the synergetic role of base and solvent for the initiation of the radical process.
متن کاملMetal-free N-arylation of secondary amides at room temperature.
The arylation of secondary acyclic amides has been achieved with diaryliodonium salts under mild and metal-free conditions. The methodology has a wide scope, allows synthesis of tertiary amides with highly congested aryl moieties, and avoids the regioselectivity problems observed in reactions with (diacetoxyiodo)benzene.
متن کاملMetal-free radical oxidative alkoxycarbonylation and imidation of alkanes.
A metal-free radical oxidative carbonylation of alkanes is demonstrated, yielding esters and imides by means of di-tert-butylperoxide as an oxidant. Various alkanes, alcohols and amides were compatible in this system generating the desired carbonyl products in up to 86% yields. We proposed a plausible radical cross-coupling process based on the preliminary mechanistic studies.
متن کاملPhotoinitl&tion of Free-radical Polymerization by Transition Metal Derivatives
Two types of photoinitiator are considered: (1) transition metal complexes (mainly carbonyls), (2) chelates of transition metals. In systems of type (1) the metal is in a low oxidation state and an organic halide is generally, but not always, present; on thc other hand, in (2) the metal is initially in a high oxidation state. Comparison between photoand thermal-initiation is made for each type....
